Please note that the below guide will work for the following printers:
Brother DCP L2510D, DCP L2530DW, DCP-2537DW, DCP-2537DW, DCP-L2550DN, MFC-L2710DN, MFC-L2710DW, MFC-L2730DW, MFC-L2732DW, MFC-L2735DW and MFC-L2750DW.
Some Brother printers will stop printing without warning when they reach a set number of printouts. This can occur when installing a new cartridge or when an existing cartridge has plenty of remaining toner. This can be frustrating however this is something within the printer settings but don't worry you can override it.
Brother use this setting to ensure that all printouts you do are of the highest quality and are not affected by a lack of toner. It is important to note that this error has no relation to the reduced quality of print you may experience when a drum needs replacing. If a drum needs replacing the printer will product low-quality prints which may appear faded or blurry.
To resume printing with an existing cartridge or a new toner if you continue to see the 'Replace Toner' error message you need to switch on 'Continuation Mode' which is found on certain MFC and DCP series of Brother printers.
Steps for resetting TN2410 and TN2420 toner cartridges.
- Press the “Menu” button.
- Press the up and down buttons to find "General Options". Press “OK”.
- Press the up and down keys to find the "Change Toner/Replace Toner" option and press the "OK" button.
- Finally, press the up and down keys to find the "Continue" option. Press “OK”.
After you perform these steps, the printer will automatically start printing again as normal until the toner runs out completely.
